2020 NBA Draft Top-5 Prediction

By Shane R

As the NBA season works toward wrapping up their season, the NBA Draft will soon follow. As for now, the teams do not know their drafting positions. But, here is our take on what teams will draft where and for which player.

5 – Golden State Warriors (Onyeka Okongwu / C)

After Durant left for Brooklyn, and Clay and Steph dealing with injuries, you could bet the Warriors were only going to be a shadow of themselves this season. Insert Onyeka Okongwu. The team would draft James Wiseman if they had the choice, but the splash brothers certainly need some interior help.

4 – New York Knicks (Deni Avdija / SF)

At #4, if the New York Knicks had the pick, they already have some good cornerstone pieces in center Mitchell Robinson and shooting guard R.J. Barrett. Some might say they need a point guard, but the team has not given up entirely on Frank Ntilikina. Add a slashing small forward to the mix and the Knicks could be respectable in the upcoming season.

3 – Cleveland Cavaliers (James Wiseman / C)

Though the Cavaliers have Drummond, he could very well leave the team in the off-season to get paid. By getting James Wiseman, Cleveland would start to solidify their young talent and build for the future. Wiseman is certainly the best center in the draft.

2 – Atlanta Hawks (Anthony Edwards / SG)

The Hawks need more scoring and defense. Though Edwards is not known for his defense, it would probably be an upgrade to the other shooting guards they have on the roster. But, with Trae Young being a defensive liability, either they add defense or more scoring. The later maybe the team’s best bet.

1 – Washington Wizards (Lamelo Ball / PG)

By adding Lamelo Ball, the Wizards are surely saying bye to John Wall. They could have gone with Edwards, but Bradley Beal is much too valuable for the team to give up. Ball would give the Wizards a new lease on life since they have not been very good in a couple of years.
