Best Baseball Center Fielders Of All-Time
The most exciting position in all of baseball might have to be centerfield. Diving catches and jumping over walls seems to be their specialty. Though there have been plenty of great ones over the last 150 years, the ones that separate themselves are ones that could play offense and defense.
#3 – Ken Griffey Jr.
From 1989-2010, Ken Griffey Jr. graced the baseball world with his astonishing athleticism in the outfield and at the plate. Not since Willie Mays had people seen a center fielder who could do it all. Playing most of his years with the Seattle Mariners, Ken Griffey Jr. never won a championship, but he collected a lot of awards such as 10 AL Gold Gloves, the AL MVP in 1997, and the All-Star MVP in 1992.
#2 – Mickey Mantle
Mickey Mantle played for the New York Yankees his entire career (1951-1968), and you can bet he own a few championships along the way. Mantle won 7 to be exact. He also was an All-Star an incredible 20 times, winning the Triple Crown in 1956, and won MVP in 1956, 1957, and 1962.

When you think center field, you have to think Willie Mays. Mays got his one championship with the New York Giants in 1954, but also won Rookie of the Year in 1951, and MVP in two different decades (1954 and 1965).
