We’re used to seeing celebrities on our screens. Whether it’s on TV, in cinemas, or on our phones, we’re constantly bombarded with their faces. But did you know that you can find them in stores as well? These Hollywood bigwigs may look like they’re living their best life, but rest assured they put in a ton of work to be able to afford the finer things. In addition to shoots, recording sessions, press, and red carpets, many of the celebs we know and love are also hard-working entrepreneurs. They truly embody the sentiment of working hard and playing hard, and we can learn a thing or two from their innovation and resilience. Without further ado, here are 45 of the most successful celebrity side hustles.

The Honest Company by Jessica Alba

To be honest, Jessica Alba is a true hustler. She established a wellness brand in 2011 because she believes “you shouldn’t have to choose between what works and what’s good for you.” The Honest Company offers sustainable beauty, personal care, and baby products that are safe to use. They stand for transparency of the ingredients that go in every product and also the production method, hence the name “Honest.”

The brand has expanded into Honest Beauty, which sells haircare, skincare, and makeup. In 2016, sales reached a staggering $300 million, according to CNN. In addition to being an entrepreneur, Alba is a Golden Globe-nominated actress you may recognize in the 2000’s dance flick Honey and in the blockbuster Fantastic Four.

Goop by Gwyneth Paltrow

Established in 2008, Goop started out as a wellness newsletter. The brand gradually developed into a blog, and it is now a lifestyle brand selling products targeted at women. Goop is headed by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, selling products ranging from the usual vitamins and fragrances to the more specific items that encourage women to be open-minded, embrace their sexuality, and mind their health.

Goop has even expanded into the entertainment sector with its Netflix show, The Goop Lab, with Gwyneth Paltrow. The show follows Paltrow and her team as they explore unconventional wellness topics like psychedelics and energy work. Fans will know Gwyneth Paltrow for her part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Tony Stark’s assistant-turned-lover Pepper Potts, among many other movies she has to her credit.

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore launched Flower in 2013 as a makeup line, originally sold exclusively at Walmart. The brand has since built its own e-commerce website that features all of its cruelty-free makeup products. Flower is affordable but doesn’t compromise quality. Barrymore prides her brand as being “crush-worthy cosmetics without compromise.”

You can do a full face of makeup with Flower products as they sell everything from foundation to mascara. Their numbers have bloomed steadily, reaching $30 million in their fifth year, according to WWD. Barrymore is no stranger to screens. She has been working as an actress since childhood, and you may remember her from the classic sci-fi ET. She is also famed for being one-third of the original Charlie’s Angels.

Draper James by Reese Witherspoon

This accessory, homeware, and clothing line was established in 2015. It was named after the founder Reese Witherspoon’s grandparents, Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon. Reese dubs it a “Southern-inspired retail brand,” sticking true to her own southern roots. Every product has southern elements to it and includes embroideries and linen, which the actress herself collects.

Draper James is doing so well that its investors reportedly put in $17 million into the business, according to Forbes. Before Draper James, Witherspoon began her acting career, rising to fame with her role as Elle Woods in the flick Legally Blonde. She is a rom-com favorite, starring in beloved film Sweet Home Alabama, and most recently in the HBO series Big Little Lies.

Seven7 by Melissa McCarthy

In 2015, actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy started a brand for plus-sized women called Seven7. The brand’s core value is that fashion should be a medium for everyone to express themselves and that everyone, no matter the size, deserves to feel good about themselves. Seven7 currently sells denim, dresses, basics, dresses, and jumpsuits.

Seven7 incorporates an innovative slimming silhouette system that makes every garment flattering on the body. Their products are available on their website and in-person at Macy’s and Nordstrom, among other retailers. When not working on Seven7, McCarthy is busy starring in some of the most hilarious female-led films like Bridesmaids, The Heat, and Spy. Her recent project Can You Ever Forgive Me? earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in 2019.

Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner

The youngest Kar-Jenner may be a reality star, but it doesn’t mean that the haters who say she is talentless are right. Jenner is a business mogul with her very successful makeup brand Kylie Cosmetics. The 23-year old launched her first line of lip kits in 2016, and in the same year, her venture made $18 million after marketing it almost solely via her personal social media account.

Kylie is open about her past and has shared with the media how her lips had always made her insecure when she was younger. Well, she certainly managed to turn the pain into a fortune. Since launching Kylie Cosmetics, she has added more products to the brand and has even expanded into the skincare scene with Kylie Skin.

SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker

As Miss Carrie Bradshaw herself was a fashion icon, it makes sense that the woman who played her for six seasons would launch her own footwear brand. Sarah Jessica Parker broke into fashion retail in 2013 with her footwear brand SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. The brand provides nothing but the most premium and high-end shoes. Quality and style are guaranteed, as Parker teamed up with CEO of Manolo Blahnik George Malkemus and retailer Nordstrom.

SJP shoes cost way under Manolo’s at $200 to $375 per pair. The actress’s venture has since evolved into more than just shoes, selling outerwear and handbags, too. You can find SJP online as well as high-end retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales. Other than Sex and the City, the actress is also known for her role in the Halloween film Hocus Pocus, among many other projects.

Jessica Simpson Collection by Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is another celeb who decided to try her hand at shoes. She partnered with the Camuto Group in 2005 to release her shoe line. The Jessica Simpson Collection now provides various products, including fragrances, homeware, clothing, and handbags sold in outlets across the States.

Sales in 2014 reportedly reached a whopping $1 billion. Before the shoe collection took off, Simpson also launched a makeup brand called Dessert in 2004. The brand was sold at Sephora but discontinued in 2006. Despite this setback, Simpson still has her main career in the music industry, which she started as a singer before branching out into acting.

Gisele Bündchen, model, wife, and mother of two, surely knows how to keep busy. Short for Latin World Entertainment, the talent management company focuses on marketing Hispanic and Latin American talents and helping them make it in America’s entertainment industry. Vergara co-founded Latin WE with former music manager Luis Balaguer.

Latin We has been around since 1994. In 2017, the company was valued at a whopping $35 million. If you’ve been watching Vergara in the long-running TV show Modern Family, this venture of hers would take you by surprise. The actress has been nominated for multiple Emmys and is also the highest-paid TV actress in America, making $34 million, according to Forbes.

Bankable Productions by Tyra Banks

Known as the fiercest TV host TyTy, Tyra Banks is not just another face. She is a true boss lady, founder and CEO of Bankable Productions. Tyra’s production company was established in 2003 and is the name behind the beloved reality show America’s Next Top Model, which Tyra famously hosts. The company is also involved in production for other film and TV projects.

Kloss is better-known as a model, starting her modelling career at a very young age. She had walked over 50 runways before her 17th birthday. Yeezy by Kanye West

Notorious rapper Kanye West also has a knack for fashion. His wife Kim Kardashian has said that he has influenced her own fashion sense, and he even had an influence in her look at the 2016 Paris Fashion Week. Kanye dubbed his brand Yeezy.

There have been multiple versions of the Yeezys released since then, and the name has expanded to clothing as well. Fabletics by Kate Hudson

You’ve probably seen Fabletics across social media, especially if you’re a fitness fiend. The face behind the brand is actually actress Kate Hudson. She co-founded the line of premium activewear in 2013, and it has since gained a total of 1.7 million followers on Instagram. Sales have kept increasing over the years, even by 43% in 2016.

Aside from the co-founder hat, Kate Hudson is an Academy Award-nominated actress best known for her role in the 2000 film Almost Famous, for which she was nominated and won multiple awards.

The Village Den by Antoni Porowski

Antoni, Canadian chef and TV personality who rose to fame on Netflix’s Queer Eye, realized his dreams by redesigning The Village Den. The 30-year old restaurant in New York’s West Village was relaunched in 2018 after Porowski and his team took over. The joint is a proponent of healthy food, serving hearty dishes without gluten, red meat, fryers, seed oils, or soy.

Dr. Dre is more than just a rapper and music producer; he is also the CEO of Beats Electronics. Many celebrities from within and without the music industry have collaborated and endorsed Dre’s headphones. Some of these names include Justin Bieber, LeBron James, and Nicki Minaj.

Wayfarer Studios by Justin Baldoni

Wayfarer Studios is a new independent production studio co-founded by Jane the Virgin star Justin Baldoni. When Fenty Beauty released its full line of Pro Filt’r foundations in 50 different shades, it was a revolutionary cultural reset for inclusivity in the beauty world. The brand made women around the world of all skin types, and skin colors feel seen and included. Rihanna named the cosmetics brand after her real surname. Fenty launched in 2017 and has become the singer’s empire.

You need only scroll through Emma Roberts’ Instagram feed to know that she is quite the bookworm. The actress established the book club Belletrist with her best friend, Karah Preiss. Wahlburgers by Mark Wahlberg

This burger chain was founded in 2011 by Paul Wahlberg, brother of actor Mark Wahlberg. Together with their other sibling Donnie, the three Wahlbergs worked to build Wahlburgers.
