European football is generally considered the best and most competitive form of football that you may find anywhere in the world. Therefore, many of the best talents from all over the world ply their trade in European leagues and with European clubs. African players are not any different, and in this article, we will be looking at some of the best African players to have played in Europe.

He is arguably the greatest player ever to come from the African continent. He played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, such as Barcelona and Inter Millan, and picked up three Champions League titles in the process. He was in the third position for the FIFA Player of The Year Award in 2005 and won league titles in more than one country. He also possesses an impressive goal tally. 

Didier Drogba

A man who was once voted the greatest Chelsea player of all time in 2012, Drogba is truly a legend of Chelsea and the Premier League. He holds several records to his name, such as the African with the highest Champions League goals (44). Additionally, he was the first player to score in three successive English domestic cup finals and the first to score in three League Cup finals. 

George Weah 

He is the only African to have ever won the Ballon d’Or (1995). That same year he was also named European Player of the Year and FIFA World Player of the Year. He won trophies with PSG, Chelsea, and Milan.
