With baseball now in full swing again, it is time to look back at the best catchers of all-time. On this list, you have a group of the best hitters and fielders in the history of the sport. The list has to get started with the “Pudge.”

Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez – “Pudge” played from 1991-2011 with teams like the Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, and the Washington Nations. In 2003, Rodriquez was a part of the World Series championship Florida Marlins. During his illustrious career, Rodriguez was an all-star 14 times, won 13 Gold Gloves, 7 Silver Sluggers, and was the league’s MVP in 1999. Rodriguez was a career. 296 batter and ended his time hitting 311 home runs, and having 1,332 RBIs.

Yogi Berra – As one of the best Yankee players of all-time, Yogi played from 1946-1963, as well as 1965 with the New York Mets. Berra was the AL MVP in 1951, 1954, and 1955. During Berra’s time with the Yankees, he was a part of 10 World Series Championship. Entering the Hall of Fame in 1972 was a no-brainer for this stellar catcher. 

Johnny Bench – One of the best catchers of all-time has to be Johnny Bench. Bench played with the Cincinnati Reds from 1967-1983. He won two back-to-back championships in 1975 and 1976. Awards Bench won over his career include the Rookie of the Year in 1968, as well as MVPs in the 1970 and 1972 seasons.
